Heather Ford - Reporter
Heather Ford joins the FOX 5 Morning news team as a feature reporter, and is excited to show off all that America's finest city has to offer.

Since arriving to San Diego, she's covered some of the city's largest events including Comic-Con and opening day at the Del Mar Races. Heather hopes her high energy and zest for life will give everyone in San Diego a reason to smile as they start their day with the FOX 5 Morning crew.

Before heading to the west coast, Heather was an anchor, reporter and bureau chief at WCTI in Jacksonville, NC. There, she worked closely with the military community at Camp Lejeune, covering stories about our nation's heroes from both OIF and OEF. Many of her most memorable assignments include working alongside the Hope for Warriors foundation as they granted "warrior wishes" to many of our service men and women.

Heather started her career in journalism in Orlando, FL at WESH where she was a news writer and producer. During her time in television news on the east coast she "hunkered" down for nearly a dozen hurricanes and tropical storms. She says one of the most rewarding things about being a journalist is informing the public in its time of need.

Heather moved to San Diego in 2008, but grew up in the other sunshine state, Florida. Raised in Orlando, Heather spent most of her teen years as a cast member at one of the many amusement parks. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

If you don't catch Heather up and early on the morning show, you may see her swimming, running or biking. She is an active member of the Triathlon Club of San Diego, US Crossfit in Encinitas, and spends most of her time training for Ironman distance triathlons.
