11 Children, Some Tied to Beds, Removed From Sex Offender's Home
DAYTON, Texas -- Eleven children, some of whom were found tied to their beds, have been removed from the home of a registered sex offender.

In all, authorities say 10 adults and 11 children, ranging in age from 5 months to 11-years-old, were living in the 1,700-square-foot home outside Houston.

Court documents show authorities found two 2-year-old children tied to a bed when Child Services raided the home in January.

A legally blind, 5-year-old girl "was in a restraint on a filthy mattress, and appeared to be in a daze," the document said.

One child had a black eye and knocked-out tooth.

The adults told investigators they tied the children up when they slept or took a nap during the day "for safety," the document said.

The case is still under investigation.

No formal charges have been filed.

The District Attorney is expected to present his case to a grand jury next month.

Texas' online sex offender registry lists the house as that of Mark E. Marsh III.

Marsh was convicted in Michigan 15 years ago for criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl.
