Big Bay Boom 2010 - An Independence Day Spectacular

The Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show is back for its tenth year, promising another spectacular display over San Diego Bay. The Big Bay Fireworks Show was established in 2001 to benefit the San Diego Armed Services YMCA and various programs for San Diego area military families. The Port of San Diego contributes a combined total of $120,000 in cash and Port Services for the event.
The impeccably choreographed display will last approximately 16 1/2 minutes.

What to expect:

- Kids under 12 free.
- Fun for the kids: Bounce houses, face painting, baseball batter up game, Rad Hatter hat crafts.
- Food for purchase, beer garden for those 21 years of age and older.
- If you do not have a wristband, you will not be allowed to use the amenities.
- 3-5pm - Music by The Walrus 105.7 FM
- 5-6:30pm - Music by the Back to Back Band
- 7:00-9:00pm - Music by ROCKOLA
- Bring your chairs, blankets and enjoy a day of sun before the fireworks begin at 9:00pm.
- Paid self parking available at the Hilton Hotel.
- Smoke free environment. No coolers with alcohol allowed.

Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4.
Four barges (Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero area and Seaport Village), strategically placed around the north bay area of San Diego Bay, will discharge fireworks simultaneously to live broadcasted music on 105.7 FM The Walrus radio. The show will also be televised live on San Diego FOX 5 HD and Cox 4 HD, shot in high definition from multiple vantage points all around the Harbor. Encore replay of Big Bay Boom on Monday, July 5 at 6:00 pm.

More than 750,000 people are expected to come to the waterfront to watch the show and the Port of San Diego strongly encourages carpooling or taking the San Diego Trolley. Nearby trolley stops are located near the Santa Fe Depot , Seaport Village, the Convention Center and the Gaslamp District.
