SAN DIEGO - A bus driver came to the aid of a woman being attacked by a man on a street in downtown San Diego, police said Tuesday.
San Diego Police Department warned the public that a Hispanic man in his early 20's attempted to sexually assault a woman walking along the 1200 block of 8th Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Monday.
The suspect grabbed her from behind, put both hands over her mouth, then they fell into the street in front of parked bus, officers said.
SDPD said the suspect ran eastbound on E Street after the bus driver came to assist the victim.
The suspect was thin, clean shaven, wearing prescription glasses, dark pants, a gray hoodie with dark hair sticking out. Anyone with information has been asked to contact SDPD at 619-531-2000.
