FALLBROOK, Calif. -
A man, who was drawing on a road with chalk, was struck and killed by a small school bus in Fallbrook Friday morning.
Authorities said Deio Alcala was struck and killed by a school bus while drawing on the street with chalk outside his girlfriend's home.
The California Highway Patrol says Alcala was struck at 5:45 a.m. Friday in Fallbrook. There were no students on the bus.
CHP Officer Eric Newbury says the 38-year-old was kneeling in the left-turn lane of the street when the bus knocked Alcala into a Ford Explorer. He died at the scene.
Neither driver was injured.
