MTS Officer Shot at Grossmont Center Trolley Station
A fight over potato chips outside a San Diego liquor store led to a drive-by shooting and the arrest of six suspected gang members, police said Thursday.
The incident began around midnight when six young men left Mullen's liquor store in the Logan Heights neighborhood with several bags of chips without paying, police said. A security guard chased the men outside, and a fight ensued.
The alleged chip thieves drove off but returned minutes later and fired two shots into the store while shouting gang affiliations, according to police. No one was injured.
Six men were later arrested on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and parole violations. A .38-caliber revolver and several bags of chips were recovered in the suspects' car.
