Foul play feared in woman's disappearance

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Police Friday questioned a former boyfriend of a missing 35-year-old woman, whose disappearance is considered suspicious.

Police suspect foul play in the disappearance of Kathleen Cary Scharbarth, who was last seen Wednesday night.

Scharbarth had recently filed a restraining order against a former boyfriend, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Court records show that Scharbarth filed a domestic violence complaint Nov. 17 in Vista Superior Court.

The Carlsbad Police Department did not plan to release more information about the interview until this afternoon, a dispatcher said.
