SAN DIEGO - Latin cuisine took over the San Diego Convention Center Saturday as the Expo Comida Latina celebrated its second year in San Diego.

The event corresponded with the 75th Western Foodservice and Hospitality Expo, featuring the latest in restaurant equipment and food.

"This is a celebration of the Latin culture, its food and the fact that it's growing," said Chef Lala from Los Angeles.

The Latin expo runs through Tuesday. Organizers expect roughly 10,000 people to come through the doors. Participants can taste food, watch cooking demonstrations and buy food products.

There are 23 Spanish speaking countries in the world. El Salvador was one of the countries present at the expo.

"Latin is in, it's hip. People need to get on the bandwagon, this is where it's at," said Chef Lala.
