A prominent La Jolla real estate agent admitted scratching eight neighborhood babies Thursday, but the motivation for her bizarre behavior remains a mystery.
Lisa Hench, 45, pleaded guilty to eight misdemeanor counts of corporal injury on a child. She
scratched the children -- ages 3 months to 19 months --at different locations over a four-month period in the fall of 2009, said Deputy District Attorney Patrick Ojeil.
It was not clear what motivated Hench -- a Del Mar resident, mother of three and sales associate at the Coldwell Banker office on Prospect Avenue -- to scratch the children, some of whom she knew.
Prosecutors will probably ask that Hench not be forced to serve time in jail unless she gets in trouble again, Ojeil said.
Hench is to be sentenced Jan. 25 by Superior Court Judge Michael Smyth.
