JACUMBA, Calif. Hundreds of music-goers traveled to east of San Diego over the weekend for crafts, tie dye and to hang out at the pool. However, what made this music festival unique is that almost everyone was in the buff.
The Nudestock Festival was held at the year round, clothing optional De Anza Springs Resort, nestled in the desert and hour east of San Diego.
"It's just liberating for some reason. It's not confining. The breeze is blowing. It's comfortable. No competition. Plus you can pack light. Well not really, you have to pack your shoes," said Curt and Molly Maloy, who've been self-proclaimed nudists for 10 years.
The Maloy's rented an R.V. for three days at the festival to barbeque, enjoy the scenery, and generally stay young at heart.
"I'm 68. I'll be 69 next month," said Curt Maloy.
"I'm 58 I'll be 59 next month. So going in the nude makes us younger!" said Molly Maloy.
"We've have 520 acres here. We've always have room for another tent, RV sites. We've have a little motel and RV rentals, "said resort owner, David Landman.
Landman said as soon as people drive through the gates, they feel more relaxed.
"I just like to be free. This is when I'm at my most comfortable. This is my outfit right here. This is my accessories," said 23-year-old Ashley Heil.
"It's a sense of freedom you don't really get anywhere else," said Aaron Stewart, who promotes the lifestyle with his Clothesfree company. "I have plenty of my friends' say that's kind of weird dude. I say 'Get out here and try it, you'll see.'"
