Aztecs football enters the Big East Conference

SAN DIEGO - The Aztec football program announced their decision Wednesday to leave the Mountain West Conference and head east - to the Big East

The redeveloped football conference will potentially provide millions more in TV revenue and give the storied football program a chance to play in a BCS championship.

San Diego State University could bring in $6 - $10 million a year in football funding from the Big East Conference.

Some students said they hope the increased money for the football program should be used to offset the cuts the university is facing.
