Dr. Seuss's classic children's books are now available in digital form, thanks to a new mobile application created by a San Diego software developer.

So far seven interactive Seuss books are available. They cost $3.99 each and are available through an application developed by San Diegan Michel Kripalani.

"On the iPhone, all seven of them are in the top 100, and on the iPad, they're in the top 25," he said.

The app lets you follow along as the stories are told. The digital books take weeks for Kripalani's team to create, but he makes good money from every download.

"Everything that we sell, Apple takes 30 percent off the top, and of the remaining 70 percent, we split it with Dr. Seuss," Kripalani said.

Kripalani hopes to create digital versions of the remaining 37 Seuss books over the next two years.

"Once you see Dr. Seuss on an iPad, it's like this is the future of learning, this is the future of children's books," Kripalani said.
