Two more people have died in San Diego County from complications of swine flu, county health officials announced Monday.
Officials said the deaths of a 49-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man were related to H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu. They did not release the names of the victims or any details about their deaths, but Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten was scheduled to provide more information at a news conference at 1:30 p.m.
"These two deaths are a reminder that everyone needs to be aware that H1N1 Influenza continues to infect people in our community," Wooten in a written statement. "Our thoughts are with the friends and families of these individuals."
Wooten said resident should continue taking precautions against spreading flu, including covering your mouth when sneezing and washing hands frequently.
A total of three people have died from swine flu in San Diego County this year. The first death, a 20-year-old San Marcos woman, was reported on June 17.
