Tony Hawk

Tony Hawk -- he's a skater from the streets of San Diego turned skateboarding icon.

"I always felt there was something more about skating people weren't seeing and I hung in there and saw it rise to a popularity that I could never dream was possible. I mean now parents encourage their kids to skate; that was unheard of when I was a kid," says professional skater Tony Hawk.

Ever since he was a kid, Tony knew skating was his passion.

"This was really what I like(d) to do even though there wasn't a future necessarily in it, I just loved it too much to give it up," says Hawk.

Fast forward a couple decades, and you'll find this father of four in his Vista headquarters running his very own empire, but it wasn't always smooth riding for this superstar.

"I moved back to a smaller house, cut back on expenses, I was eating top ramen."

He dined on ramen when skating popularity hit rock bottom, but he held onto his board, and soon enough, skating reached its peak.

Now he runs a charity, the Tony Hawk Foundation.

"To date we've given away $3 million and helped to start 450 skate parks."

Plus he's launching a new video game out this fall, Tony Hawk Ride.

He's also the star of Fuel TV's 900th "Daily Habit" episode. That's because he landed the first 900 in the 1999 X-Games.

"Tony's always been one of those skaters who transcends outside the skater realm," says "Daily Habit" host, Pat Parnell.

"Thats what defines success...in the end you are doing what you love and you don't dread going to work," says Hawk.

You can catch Hawk on the "Daily Habit's" 900th episode June 26th on FUEL TV.
