SAN DIEGO -
Authorities Friday released the name of a 29-year-old man who was hit and killed by a San Diego Trolley train while crossing the tracks in front of the NASSCO shipyard in Barrio Logan.
A southbound Metropolitan Transit System Trolley train struck Christopher Brian Roberts near Schley Street and Harbor Drive shortly before 5:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Roberts, who was single, died at the scene from head and upper-body injuries, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
San Diego police said the death did not appear to be a suicide. Fox 5 News reported that Roberts was wearing a NASSCO company jacket and tried to cross the tracks at about the time of a shift change at the shipyard.
