Authorities Friday released the name of a 29-year-old man who was hit and killed by a San Diego Trolley train while crossing the tracks in front of the NASSCO shipyard in Barrio Logan.A southbound Metropolitan Transit System Trolley train struck Christopher Brian Roberts near Schley Street and Harbor Drive shortly before 5:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Roberts, who was single, died at the scene from head and upper-body injuries, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
San Diego police said the death did not appear to be a suicide. Fox 5 News reported that Roberts was wearing a NASSCO company jacket and tried to cross the tracks at about the time of a shift change at the shipyard.
