SAN DIEGO -
A high-speed chase ended in National City when a man driving a large U-haul truck crashed into two law enforcement vehicles, following a domestic violence incident, Tuesday morning.
Deputies were called to the 5000 block of Cedar Wood Road in Bonita at 8:42 p.m. Monday to investigate an incident of domestic violence, said San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Hope Andrews. Arriving deputies saw a 30-year-old man drive off and followed him, she said.
The ensuing vehicle pursuit ended at 30th Street and Hoover Avenue in National City after the U-haul truck crashed into a transformer, Andrews said.
San Diego Gas & Electric reported a couple of businesses were without power early today due to the damaged transformer.
The U-haul also collided with a sheriff's car and a National City police car during the pursuit.
The man bailed after the transformer crash and suffered minor cuts and scrapes when he scaled a razor wire fence, according to the news station. He was arrested a short time later, after deputies caught up with him, Andrews said.
