Vista man dies in high-speed motorcycle crash

OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- A Vista man who was killed in a motorcycle crash was identified by the Medical Examiner's office Sunday.

Kristopher Allen Murray, 26, was riding a newer-model Yamaha R1 motorcycle at a high rate of speed south on North Santa Fe Drive, approaching Darwin Road, about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Murray struck the rear driver side of a Honda minivan which was making a legal left turn from Darwin Road onto northbound North Santa Fe Drive, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

The motorcyclist was ejected into center of the roadway and emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

Oceanside police were investigating the accident.
