SANTEE, Calif. -
Authorities Wednesday released the name of a wheelchair-bound man who died after being struck by a pickup truck in Santee.
Hector Villasenor, 62, of Santee rode his motorized wheelchair eastbound onto the 8900 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard directly in front of a southbound pickup truck around 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Scott Hill.
The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old Lakeside resident, was going the speed limit but was unable to stop in time to avoid Villasenor, Hill said.
