LA MESA -
A woman was arrested early Friday for stabbing her boyfriend with a large kitchen knife during a drunken argument in their apartment in an unincorporated part of La Mesa, authorities said.
The woman was arrested at the apartment on Calle Verde shortly before 2 a.m. on suspicion of felony domestic violence and attempted murder, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Greg Hampton.
The couple had been drinking alcohol before the fight broke out, the sergeant said, adding that the woman retrieved the knife after the man pushed her "a couple of times.''
Three children, ages 6, 10 and 13, were in the apartment at the time of the fight, Hampton said.
The man was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with a non-life threatening wound to his neck.
The woman was booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility. Her name and bail information were not immediately released.
