SAN DIEGO - Two children, ages 3 and 6, were hospitalized along with an adult today after being injured in a crash in which a vehicle tumbled down a 50-foot embankment in rural North County, authorities said.

The crash on Highway 79, between Sunshine Summit and Warner Springs, was reported at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Cal Fire dispatcher.

Firefighters extricated both children from the vehicle before they were flown to Rady Children's Hospital, she said.

The driver, an adult, was also injured, according to the dispatcher, who said that victim was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

All three patients sustained minor to moderate injuries, she said.
